Description
Gift of Hope, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to coordinating and increasing organ and tissue donation in Illinois and northwest Indiana, has a Supervisor position available in its Tissue Recovery Department.
The position is one of three supervisors responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tissue donation/recovery area and develops relationships with coroners and funeral home directors to increase organ and tissue donations. The job requires the ability to act as the administrator-on-call coordinating tissue procurement cases 24 hours per day for one week each month.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* A degree in one of the life sciences such as RN, Respiratiory Therapist, etc.
* Experience in tissue banking and tissue procurement, or equivalent healthcare experience
* Training in human anatomy and experience with medical terminology
* The ability to successfully supervise assigned staff
* The ability to interact effectively with coroners, funeral home directors and to make presentations to public audiences
