As an operating room specialist, I assisted nursing staff in preparing the patient and operating room with surgical procedures. I assisted in orthopedics, ENT, neurology, general, GYN and urology cases. Some of the duties include transport patients from surgical wards to pre- op rooms, check for proper documentation in the chart, create and maintain a sterile field, assist nurse with draping and positioning, maintain accountability for all instrumentation, sharps, sponges and medications placed on the sterile field, maintain the cleanliness of the room. At Landstuhl, Germany I trained to fit test the CMS staff with N95 respirators. The service technician for vascular, ENT, and General. In CMS, I would receive, properly clean and process instrumentation according to manufacture guidelines, perform weekly TOSTI tests on the ultrasonic and instrument washers, provide customer service to the clinics and outlying clinics staff, for whom we process instrumentation for, maintain and restock crash carts for the hospital and outlying clinics, responsible for sterilization process (includes inspecting, cleaning, assembling, wrapping and sterilizing). At Landstuhl, Germany I preformed hand hygiene surveys. |
